Senior Post-Contract QS Engineer

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project expenditure against the approved budget and cost plan.
• Track actual labour, material, subcontractor, plant and overhead costs and investigate variances.
• Implement and maintain robust cost-control procedures and systems.
• Measure completed work and prepare accurate interim valuations and payment certificates.
• Review contractor and subcontractor payment applications against contract terms and progress.
• Assess, price and negotiate variations, changes in scope and site instructions.
• Maintain complete records of variations and approvals.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, cash-flow forecasts and Estimate at Completion updates.
• Support contractual claims, dispute resolution and commercial strategy.
• Reconcile payments, variations and claims to achieve final contract close-out.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in the construction field.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Excellent English and Arabic reading, writing and speaking skills.
• Excellent use of Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of FIDIC contract forms and other common contract types used in Egypt.
• Excellent communication, organisation, time-management and data-analysis skills.
• Very good persuasion, negotiation and influencing skills.
